If you’ve spent any time at all on a boat, like if you spent 12 years in the navy, you well know to tie shit down, lest it be launched toward you in the most unfortunate way.

Normally ahead of moving campsites we’d have taken the litter box (literally, a wooden box with a cat head cutout in front with litter tray inside) off the bench seat and put it onto the floor. That way a nasty pothole can’t wreak too much havoc.

And yet sometimes you forget. This time the pothole decided to not only break the box but land it on its backside, spraying poop- and pee-laden litter everywhere inside and out.

We don’t forget anymore.
