Congratulations to Daniela & Matthew, celebrating their wedding at the beautiful Veritas Vineyards with views of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. While a steady rain throughout the day kept the festivities indoors, it slowed not a one, because there was to be a fun and informal party that night. The couple had written their own vows for the occasion, and while Daniela was upstairs doning her dress, Matthew and his groomsmen were in the cellar, along with large tubs of just-picked grapes, putting the finishing touches on his own verses.
They had decided to see each other privately ahead of the ceremony, giving them an opportunity to relax a bit and enjoy each others’ company while we did portraits of the two of them. Thanks to Daniela’s sister and maid-of-honor for holding the video light for us during the session! In another very personal touch, Matthew’s best man also served as officiant for the ceremony held in the cozy tasting room, offering up tales of their past and sage advice as their guests watched from the leather couches and surrounds.
In a nod to Daniela’s Chilean heritage, she and her bridesmaids all wore bright pink shoes and their band for the evening, The Source, played a healthy list of both R&B and salsa music keeping everyone excited. A playful couple, they had set up a table with a camera and printer, and props of all sorts (e.g., moustaches, wigs, veils, etc.) for their guests to don for portraits to be included in their guest book. It was all great fun for all, and in fact Daniela left her fake moustache on as they bounded into the ball room, announced for the first time as husband and wife.
Everything was decorated with gorgeous flowers and pillar candles from Pat’s Floral Designs, and the delicious and moist cake was baked by Kathy Watkins of Favorite Cakes. Props too, to Chris of Veritas, always an easy presence and keeping everything moving just so. Everyone had a blast that evening, as did we, and we were delighted to have been a part of the wedding celebration. Thanks, you two, and congratulations!
