Last week we packed up half our kitchen (and pretty much the entire contents of our fridge) and headed over to beautiful Smith Mountain Lake where we met my brother and his family  to celebrate Thanksgiving at a lovely rented lake house. It was a perfect mix of eating, snoozing, playing and relaxing and we all agreed that we didn’t really want to leave when the time came. We brought a new lens along with us so we had some fun playing around with it, too!

We gave thanks to all the incredible blessings in our lives – family, friends and of course, the most amazing clients around! We hope you and your families enjoyed a fun and tasty holiday, too! Is  Hanukkah, Christmas and New Years really right around the corner though?!?

When Anne saw our friend Jennifer Carroll’s recipe for Cheddar Biscuits with Herb Butter in the November issue of her Celebrating Everyday Life with Jennifer Caroll, she knew we had to try them out for our Thanksgiving meal. They did NOT disappoint – sooooo yummy and so incredibly easy! Seriously, you want to find a reason to make these right now. For more holiday recipes and decorating tips, be sure to check out the new December issue, too!

This local hard cider was the perfect, if unusual. choice for the honey-baked ham.

Wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without Peanut Butter cookies, right? 😉

Andy & Jen’s yummy pumpkin pie!

And then of course there’s playtime afterward to work off all those calories.

Breakfast Saturday morning. Yeah, he’s a pretty cute nephew.

Seriously.

Tell us he’s not. We dare you. 😉

Ah, Thanksgiving – the gateway holiday. Gotta love it. Hope you and yours did!

xoxo,
