Speaking for The Art of Delight at Foundation Conference
Wedding photographers have a tendency to work in isolation when they’re not shooting. It’s just the nature of the job. So when we have a chance to gather, it so fills our hearts with joy it’s hard to keep it all in. Bill recently had the honor of speaking and serving as a photo contest judge at one of these recent get-togethers at the incredible Foundation Conference held at Hotel Valley Ho in Phoenix.
The talk’s topic was creating a consistently positive customer experience as part his The Art of Delight consultancy. Most artists, as you can imagine, go into business for themselves so they can be creatively free, not so they can be businesspeople. So a lot of thought is put into their art, and less into the business, which is as it should be because they’re focusing on their passion. But when in business, you can’t neglect one for the other and expect to put food on the table, let alone be creative.
His goal then was providing a basis for all our photographer peeps at the conference to enhance their empathy toward their clients’, consider their overall experience, how to deal with issues when they arise and how to prevent them in the first place, and thinking ahead and assisting a client with their needs before they even realize they needed help. It was an amazing and humbling experience and one he’ll not soon forget. Thank you to our dear photographer friends for their constant love and support.
With our dear friends Andrew & Katrina.

While we were there, we thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful light (we are photographers, after all) and the amazingly gorgeous Arizona sunsets as seen through our Instagram feed. The near constant temperature of 75 degrees was not too bad either. We’re already looking forward to next year!
