Engaged! with Jen&Rob

We’re always up for an adventure, so when the joyful dynamic-duo of Jen and Rob, suggested one of their favorite places, Sugar Hollow, we said “hell, yeah!”  We’ll be documenting their wedding early next year and we can’t wait. It’s always wonderful to see two people who not only love each other deeply, but also really like each other. These two are definitely kindred spirits – they couldn’t stop cracking each other (and us!) up! We were all grateful for the Spring-like weather and warm creek water that morning. We also mixed it up with a change of clothes (and shoes!) for an afternoon session at the site of their wedding, The Boar’s Head Inn. Of course we had to share some of our favorites with you. And if you like, you can see the entire session here. The password, which is case-sensitive, is Jen’s last name. Enjoy!

Jen’s festive shoes also serve as study book ends.

Congratulations on your engagement, j&r! We had so much fun with you both and can’t wait to capture all the merriment and moments for you next January!

xoxo,

Engaged! with Erin&Bryan

We’re taking full advantage of the beautiful Fall weather we’ve been having by making a road trip to South Carolina, where we met up with our good friend Erin and her fiancé Bryan for their engagement portraits one recent afternoon. They brought their puppy bulldog Sukie, who has grown by leaps and bounds since the last time we saw her. We hung out at the Anne Springs Close Greenway and had a blast that afternoon. Such a great time, and we just can’t wait to shoot their wedding here in Charlottesville next Spring! (Scroll down for the link to view their entire online gallery.)

Engaged! with Taylor&Rob

This fall has been filled with close calls and just downright downpours of rain! Taylor and Rob were recently in town for some wedding planning and had hoped to get together with us for their engagement portrait session one morning. Up until minutes before we were to start, we thought we’d be rained out, working under the various porticos and porches surrounding the University of Virginia’s grounds. But good weather prevailed, and we had a cloudy, but beautiful morning with which to do their portraits! The two of them were so relaxed and fun; we had a wonderful time with them both. Taylor and Rob, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can’t wait for your wedding next Spring!

Ann & Justin’s Guest Signing Book from their Engagement Portraits

We can’t wait for Ann & Justin’s wedding this upcoming weekend, and their guests are going to enjoy some fun portraits of the two of them without having to wait for their wedding images. During the cherry blossom season up in DC, we gathered at dawn for some easy-going portraits of the two of them, and they commissioned us to produce a guest signing book for them comprised of images from the session that morning. It comes with a dust jacket, with one of their favorite images, to protect it with the same cover image printed on the cover. We recently shipped it out to them and look forward to seeing the warm and heartfelt comments their loved ones write in the book. Here’s a sneak peek of what it looks like, and if you’re a Holland Photo Arts client and want to use images from your engagement session for your own personalized book, let us know!

Engaged! with Ann&Justin

Ann and Justin, who will be marrying this May, recently braved the crowds with us at a dawn engagement session by the tidal basin. They wanted to have some quinessential DC shots so what more of a perfect time to capture the city’s beauty than during the cherry blossoms! Although it was chilly, we all had a great time. The blossoms were at their gorgeous peak and it was “fun” trying to keep the hundreds of early revelers out of their shots! 😉 We even had a couple of photo stalkers! Ann and Justin are such fun loving couple though, so didn’t phase them a bit. We can’t wait for your wedding next month, you two!!
