Maddie & Nick’s Rocky Mountain Wedding at a Private Estate

Maddie & Nick’s Rocky Mountain Wedding at a Private Estate

You could go lots of different places in Colorado for equally beautiful settings for your wedding. The third time I (Bill) guest photographed for our good friend Kent Meireis. From wedding party shenanigans ahead of the ceremony to Nick spontaneously throwing Maddie over his shoulder during the recessional to doing ski shots with their officiant and his wife, I absolutely loved spending the day with Maddie & Nick, not to mention Kent (thanks, Kent!). Below are a few of our favorite details and moments from the day.

The fantastic team:
Venue: Nick’s family home
Planner: Claire + team of Claire Gordon Events
Catering: Wild Horse Catering-We Love Food
Florist: Margaret’s Garden
DJ: DJ Rockstar Aaron
Wedding gown: Little White Dress
Make-up/hair: Kaylee Martin & Ally Triolo / Monika Barnett
Officiant: (Former U.S. Senator) Mark Udall

Ok, so how cute is this? The kids, on their own, decided to start helping out the catering staff move the chivari chairs from the ceremony pasture to the reception tent. Pretty sure this spectacle competed with the mountain backdrop for guests’ attention.

Megan & Chad’s Wedding at Vail Resort & Donovan Pavilion

Megan & Chad’s Wedding at Vail Resort & Donovan Pavilion

You may have seen Malia & Bryson’s surprise wedding (guests thought it was an engagement party) last week, where I (Bill) guest photographed with our good friend Kent Meireis. We have a couple more to share with you from a full weekend spent shooting two weddings in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. First up is Megan & Chad’s Jewish ceremony held at the mountaintop at Vail Resorts wedding deck. And because it was a Colorado wedding, a dog was involved, natch. I totally fell in love with Kona and nearly brought her home with me. Such a great dog. Callie the cat may not have much appreciated our sudden adoption, however.

Enjoy some of the favorite images from their wedding!

These folks all worked so well as a team to make this event so memorable:
Ceremony: Vail Wedding Deck
Reception: Donovan Pavilion
Flowers: Vintage Magnolia
Catering: The Gourmet Cowboy
DJ: DJ RIPM
Getting ready: Arrabelle Hotel

These little boys weren’t even part of Megan & Chad’s wedding. They were simply waiting patiently for the next ceremony at the wedding deck. Still…a cute scene.

Malia & Bryson’s Surprise Wedding at Denver’s Wynkoop Brewery

Malia & Bryson’s Surprise Wedding at Denver’s Wynkoop Brewery

When was the last time you showed up for an engagement party for close friends? Perhaps not too long ago. But when was the last time this engagement party suddenly turned into a wedding? That’s exactly what Malia & Bryson planned for their guests, who thought they’d be arriving to spend an intimate evening noshing and drinking tasty brews from Wynkoop Brewing. This was an intimate event, and Malia & Bryson were clients of our dear friend Kent Meireis. It was a great opportunity to guest shoot with a fellow experienced and talented photojournalist. It was the first of three weddings we were to shoot together, so more coming soon!
